BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Xenios Thrasyvoulou,
founder & CEO

Xenios is an experienced entrepreneur. Prior to founding Peopleperhour.com, he founded Arcarnus - a concierge service pitched to time-starved individuals, and grew it aggressively, leading it to international expansion, with franchisee operations as far out as the Middle East. He is now involved as Chairman to the Board in the growth of the franchise operation. Following Arcarnus Xenios founded Holiday Visions - a luxury tour operator with strong online presence, focused in high-growth travel destinations and complex tours.

Xenios founded Peopleperhour.com in 2007 to solve an everyday problem faced by most businesses, and especially in the SME sector: finding skilled people to execute small projects or tasks on an ad-hoc basis and thus save time and money. He realized that whilst there are many avenues to recruit full-time staff or contract workers (with the associated cost of course) there are no credible channels for finding people to out-source smaller projects cost-effectively.

With the rapid uptake of the social networking phenomenon, Xenios realized that there was a huge opportunity for creating a community-like marketplace to simply connect people who need things done, with people who can do them, in an environment of reliability and trust through feedback (eBay-style).

Xenios is a graduate of Cambridge University with an MA/Meng where he was awarded a mark of Distinction for his Masters dissertation. He has attended multiple executive education programmes at Harvard Business School. He is also a noted speaker on entrepreneurship in numerous forums, events and business schools, including INSEAD business school.

At PeoplePerHour he is responsible for the overall strategic direction, business development, and managing the team.

Simos Kitiris,
co-founder & CTO

Simos has a strong technical and consultancy background, having worked for Accenture - leading IT & Strategy consultants in London, where he managed the successful delivery of a number of projects, primarily within the pharmaceutical and drink industries. During his time at Accenture Simos worked on a number of web-based developments, including managing the development of marketing sites and blogs for some of the world’s most known drink brands. Apart from digital marketing, other projects included bespoke web-based enterprise systems, CRM implementations and data migrations.

Prior to Accenture, Simos worked at Amadeus: leading provider of GDS solutions for the travel industry, where he was responsible for system design and implementation. Simos is a graduate of the University of Cambridge with an MA/MEng. During his Master‘s degree he specialized in the field of online learning and has received a distinction for his dissertation in this field; as part of his degree Simos has also developed a series of e-learning tutorials on engineering materials for the Cambridge University Engineering Department.
