We are a substantial player in the Climate Change Industry, we have recently outsourced our CRM facilities and now need to organise and clean our database.
We have over fifteen years of contacts already on spreadsheet, they now need organising ready for a major International product launch for a new client.
The applicant must have corporate experience and understand how to organise a contact database.
Applicants must have good references.

Hi,

I\'m a developer / database admin with 5 years of corporate data transfer, cleansing and organising data experience behind me.

I\'m not sure exactely what your requirements are here? Are you aiming at getting your Excel (and possibly other disperate data sources) into a relational database system such as sql server 2005?

If so then I can certainly help both in terms of the design structure of the database and the cleansing and import of your existing data.

I should point out that I would not be prepared to tale this on as a completely remote job; if you have extensive amounts of data then I would need to travel up/down for a day to discuss the finer points of the project in detail.

In terms of references you will see that I have a very good record on this site.
Previous to going freelance I used to manage a development department for a stockbrokers and redesigned/streamlined the entire data process management systems on an operational basis. If you could confirm in a little more detail your requirements and whether or not you would consider me for this job I will forward details of the IT Director (my previous boss) at the stock brokers.

1. What format do you require the cleansed spreadsheet lists to be in?

2. What is the the total number of contacts on your current spreadsheet?

3. Do you have headings and field layouts decided?

4. Is it possible to access your spreadsheets remotely?

Interesting project. I ahve just completed an assignment for an energy survey business looking at proving energy rating and energy useage for businesses.

I ahve a few questions that should help provide clairty to all.

1. You say \'clean and organise.\' Are you suggesting mutliple worksheets and files all which have different field headings and formatting?

2. How many records approximately would you say you have in total.

3. What do you mean by cleanse? DO you want to simply organise and re-organsiae the data to be imported into your CRM application? If so, have you agreed on the field layout and headings? Will there be any data validation required, i.e. Postal Address file matching? DO you require contact names researched at all?

4. If there is going to be a product launch, I\'m guessing that contact names will be key along with job titles. Do you have these? Have you tested or validated the accuracy of any of the data you hold?

5. Do you hold email addresses for these contacts?

6. Within the sheets you have, is there any valuable comments or contact infromation you require to keep and have available for import? If so, have you decided on the character/field length?

7. How soon would you require this project to be completed?

8. Could I ask what system you will be importing this into please?

Hi Chris

I would very much like to put a bid in for your project.

I have 4 years experience of database work. I currently work remotely from Spain for a company of solicitors in Cambridge, England doing just that.

I currently work on a database which is InterAction and my daily role is to check all new and changed data.

I also work on cleaning data in spreadsheets before it reaches the database for when new starters arrive.

Would the work involved be on Excel and/or the database and what is the software for the database? Would I be able to work remotely on this?

I look forward to hearing back from you as I would very much like to put a bid in for this project and could start this weekend if needed.

Hi Chris,

This job would be ideal for me, but first I would like to know how many hours or hours per week would be required.

I am well versed with Lookups in MS Excel, so if this is a spreadsheet project, then I am definitely keen.

I have worked in analytical roles with Excel spreadsheets for about six years now.

Dear Chris,

I have a couple of questions prior to bidding on this project:-

1. Could you confirm whether it is a database (Access) or a spreadsheet (Excel) required to be organised?
2. You say you have over 15 years of contacts, I expect the file will be rather large in size, how do you hope to send this over?
3. Could you estimate the number of entries you have?
4. Have you considered a Virtual Assistant accessing your system remotely from their location to conduct the work?
