I cannot get past a CORS error in this project:

I need to make API calls with Basic authentication:
I am using Axios and Vuejs within a Google apps script to try to access a CRM API.
I have no access to the API server
I have a shared hosting account, so could implement a php proxy.
The job is to provide a solution using axios.get() and have the Google scripts project log to console the contents of the API call.
