Description
Experience Level: Expert
We need someone to write the code to integrate Supercontrol, using their API, with a WordPress website.
The instructions from the SuperControl website are as follows (please note these links are to a demo account):
We recommend you connect to filter3 to collect the full list of live property codes: https://api.supercontrol.co.uk/xml/filter3.asp?siteID=68&propertycode_only=1
You should store this property list in your own database.
You can then connect to the individual property xml to collect the full property information and store this in your own database: https://api.supercontrol.co.uk/xml/property_xml.asp?id=83534&siteID=68
You should connect to https://api.supercontrol.co.uk/xml/filter3.asp?siteID=68&propertycode_only=1 on a regular basis to check the lastupdatenode. If this has recently been updated then you should connect to the property xml again to collect the up to date data.
As a result, when populating your website search results and property pages the information can come directly from your own database. You only need to query the API for the property list and prices. For example: https://api.supercontrol.co.uk/xml/filter3.asp?siteID=68&startdate=2016-06-17&numbernights=7&basic_details=1
See the prices > rate nodes. You will also need to take account of the discount and extras nodes
We also strongly suggest that you cache the search XML on your servers. Caching common searches for 10-15 minutes will significantly improve the performance of your website.
----
On the front end of the website we will need:
* A custom search form
* A search results page with filters
* A property information page with photos and availability calendar and booking link
We would love to find someone with previous experience with the Supercontrol API - potential for future projects.
