Description
Experience Level: Expert
We require a developer, experienced in Joomla component development, to upgrade the component 'Form2Content' to ensure it installs and functions with Joomla 4 / 5 (Joomla 5 is the focus).
Form2Content is used to create a customised form which non-technical partners use via the front end of Joomla to insert their content. Then, through the use of Smarty templating and other plugins and extensions, formatted and styled articles can be created. The benefit of using F2C is that partners do not need to access the Administrator panel, they don't need to worry about formatting, and they can edit the content of their elearning at any time and see the formatted results published immediately. From our perspective, it ensures we have control of the look and functionality of the published content, whilst allowing the original authors of the content to 'self-publish' (without technical skills).
The original developers decided to not update Form2Content for Joomla 4 onwards, but they have made the full component available via GitHub.

Please reply with your proposal outlining your relevant experience, your estimated timeline, and a quote for the total project cost (the default budget is currently displayed). Feel free to ask any questions if you need further clarity on the project scope or requirements.
Attachments:
Screenshots attached to show an example of the frontend view for users of a form created using Form2Content, and an example of the backend template used to create that form.

Hi Peter,
Do you require the updated component to be compatible with both Joomla 4 and Joomla 5, or exclusively Joomla 5 moving forward?Peter S.16 Apr 2025Joomla 5 is the main focus, to futureproof it. If it's possible to be compatible with both then that might be useful for those times in the near future where another extension is not yet available for Joomla 5. But please focus on Joomla 5.
