Description
Experience Level: Entry
Num. of articles: 1
Words per article: 500+
Blog/website url: www.avocadomagazine.com
Information for the blog/website: Online magazine for UK mamas
Topic: Mothers + Motherhood
Tone: Humorous
Outline & Structure: I am on the hunt for an astrologer / horoscope writer with a good sense of humour.
I have recently started an online magazine - Avocado Magazine - which is designed to bring mums information, inspiration, and a bit of a chuckle with articles that are tailored just for us (sort of a Grazia-without-all-the-flat-tummies meets BabyCentre-without-the-judgy-undertone).
I would really really love to incorporate a monthly horoscope into the magazine, something that is a bit tongue-in-cheek (we all know its just a bit of fun really) and something that is tailored to mothers and motherhood.
I am not sure, at this stage, if it would make more sense to have all 12 horoscopes mentioned briefly or to have one horoscope per month (i.e. Virgo in September). I'm really up for suggestions. The only thing I need is for the articles to be professional sounding and well written.
Writers will be credited for their work.
Extensive research needed: yes
Extra notes: Anyone who has any background in astrology will be given preference.
The magazine is currently in 'soft launch' faze and we have plans to put some advertising behind Avocado Magazine in November. At this time the magazine should (hopefully) be making an income and the pay per article will be increased accordingly.
This position is for on-going monthly work which will hopefully expand and grow with our online magazine.
I haven't set a budget for this job because I am open to negotiation based on previous experience and writing ability.
In your proposal, please let me know:
1 How you would structure the article (12 mini horoscopes vs. 1 monthly horoscope)
2 What type of topics you would include (and how you would keep the article fun + tailored to mums)
3 How much you would like to be paid per article / per hour
Words per article: 500+
