Project Description
Hi we are a project managment consultancy serving the oil and gas industry based in Aberdeen. I have requirement for someone with necessary skills to proof read, edit and format techncial documents (high profile corporate documents) once the primary technical author and subject specialists have finished the initial draft. An intimate knowledge of all microsoft office software is essential e.g. word and excel. This assignment could turn into a regular assignment of several documents a month.

| Hello Darrin, I have oil and gas industry experience by virtue of working for Amerada Hess in London for five years. I was PA/Administrator to the Global Director of IT and frequently produced/edited/formatted technical documents as described in your project. Additionally, I have a BA (Hons) in English therefore spelling, grammar etc is of an adequate standard for the task. However, I am undecided whether to bid or not as I do not recall employing Excel skills to any significant degree during this process. In order not to waste your time I thought I would use the clarification board to establish if my general knowledge of Excel would rule me out. Many thanks, Catherine |

| Hi Darrin, I'm an experienced software Technical Author and user of MS Office, but have little knowledge of your industry (gas and oil). How much will this matter from a proof-reading and editing point of view? |
